On water, light and colour
Mooie Scott
These drawings are river surfaces. Absorbing the flow of water and the effects of the surrounding landscape. Working with ink, charcoal and collage, confusion becomes a creative state in which undertones and currents emerge. By tearing, cutting, burning, and pressing, I deconstruct and reassemble the drawings, to create new configurations.
Spaces, edges and angles are eroded and reshaped.
Vivienne Haig
I divide my time as a studio and architectural glass artist.
I work with a combination of constructivist abstraction and figurative imagery.
Light and colour are usually my starting point. From there, I introduce line and form. The marks and steps that show the process along the way, are as important as the final piece.
Working with light and crossing boundaries inform the materials I use to make my work. Recently I have been focused on recording and transforming ‘falling down landscapes’, their edges, light refraction and colour.
