Val has discovered links with the works of poets who were, in the same way, deeply concerned with the changing landscape over two hundred years ago.
Val has been hiking to elevated points to observe, draw and paint the peaks and coastal landscape from a new perspective.

Macfarlane Robson Fine Art: Last week of November, first week of December 2025
We have, as our Christmas exhibition for 2025, a selection of Scottish pictures from the late nineteenth and the twentieth centuries.
We have teamed up with Macfarlane Robson Fine Art, from Kelso, who sell paintings in both oils and watercolour and concentrate on artists from Scotland and the north of England from about 1870 onwards.
