The silver band march round Selkirk on New Years Day and it's a very happy opening to the new year.

We are closed in January as we hope to go over to Spain, where Javier's from, and paint (me) and (photograph) Javier.
If it doesn't happen because of the virus, we'll just stay at home and do the same thing.

The Christmas Tree has arrived in Selkirk, it's a big one in the market place and covered with snow from Storm Barra ...

We love November, it makes being indoors so cosy and it's now teetering on the edge of December.

It's raining in Selkirk but our gallery looks glowing - and its the second last day of our exhibition 'ink'.
The exhibition closes tomorrow Saturday 30 October at 4.30.

This a very old bike, part of the celebrations in Selkirk of Scott's Selkirk.

It's Scott's Selkirk this weekend - Javier took a picture of Viv on duty on the door at the County Hotel. A re-enactment was going on of a courtcase that Sir Walter Scott presided over.

We love beeswax candles. They burn slowly, don't seem to make a mess and fill the air with honey scent.
These ones are from Chainbridge Honey Farm outside Berwick.

We're all going to be dressing in early 19th century clothes next Saturday because Selkirk is celebrating the 250th anniversary of Sir Walter Scott's birth.
There'll be street music, guided tours around the court room where Walter Scott was sheriff, a craft market and childrens' activities.

Liz Douglas wanted to have an exhibition showing her work during lockdown and she asked if anyone else in her studio wanted to show - nearly everyone did!

So the exhibition is this weekend Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 3 October from 10 – 5.

We like these Bee watercolour books by Sennelier, they're A4 and good tough watercolour paper in 'Not' cold pressed form.
They are just in and I can't choose what to buy for my next watercolour book, we have got in lovely drawing books - that's the trouble with running a gallery that also sells art stuff ...

They're like mini works of art.

... and my brother donated us these pigeon holes so that we can have more.
